Gainesville Pizza: Not All Pizza Is Created Equal When It Comes to Calories
Planning for a pizza delivery tonight? Watching your calories? Then opt for the healthier of the pizza delivery options, Domino’s over Pizza Hut. We all know pizza isn’t good for you, but there are things you can do to make it healthier.
Pizza Delivery in Moderation
The prices are so low on pizza, but I always feel compelled to “get my money’s worth,” when it comes to ordering, and I end up opting for the Large, instead of the medium, and the chicken kickers, to go along with the pizza, since it’s only “a couple dollars more.” Unfortunately, the pizza and the extras are killing my waistline and making the calories go sky-high.
So when ordering pizza delivery, use moderation. Instead of the large pizza, opt for the medium pizza. Instead of the free breadsticks, give them to your roommate or neighbor. They’ll like you a lot more and you’ll be able to save on the calories.
1 Medium Pizza, With Vegetables, Please
In addition to cutting back on the size of your pizza order, you can do things to make the pizza itself more healthy. First, opt for the thin crust pizza, trust me, it may hurt you to order it, but once you’ll enjoy not feeling so stuffed after eating. Instead of getting the pepperoni pizza, go for the veggie pizza. Green peppers, tomatoes, spinach are all great toppings that taste great too.
Domino’s Pizza vs. Pizza Hut
Looking for a good comparison to just how bad Pizza Hut pizza is when it comes to calories? Here’s a quick breakdown from Men’s Health on 2 slices of pizza:
2 slices Domino’s large cheese pizza
360 calories
19 g fat
2 slices Pizza Hut large cheese pizza
